YOUR FUTURE, ON DEMAND

The ideal blend of stability and flexibility. A genuinely human employer that cares for people and the planet. True autonomy to shape what comes next, for us and you. This is the perfect platform to take your career where you want.

Back in 2005, we pioneered Europe’s first TV streaming service. Today, we’re the world’s first certified climate neutral TV streaming provider. Several million users across three countries. Over 230 colleagues of 47 nationalities. We’re the grown-up start-up, helping to shape a better future since day one. That hasn’t changed, even if the world has. We’re friendly, international, inclusive – and our people say we’re reliable and transparent, too. It’s why they trust us and believe in what we do.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join Zattoo's BI Team following an internal transition. This is not a typical dashboard-producer role. We want someone who combines deep technical craft — writing production-grade SQL, building DBT models, orchestrating pipelines — with the commercial instinct to turn raw data into decisions. We are also actively exploring how AI and LLM tooling can augment the way we work, and we want someone genuinely curious about that space.

This role sits at the intersection of Data Engineering and Business Analysis. You will own analytical products end-to-end: from schema design and DBT model authorship, through to stakeholder presentations and strategic recommendations - without needing to hand off at either end.

THE TEAM

You'll join a compact BI team of four analysts, reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence. We operate across Zattoo's DE, CH, and AT markets, supporting product, commercial, and executive stakeholders. We process 6 TB of event data daily and are mid-way through a migration from a legacy Vertica/Jenkins stack to a modern GCP architecture (BigQuery, Airflow, dbt). There is real scope to shape how we do things - this is not a maintenance role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own analytical domains end-to-end: Design and maintain DBT models, write production SQL in BigQuery, and deliver finished insight - not raw data - to stakeholders.
  • Proactively generate business insight: Go beyond answering questions. Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities autonomously and bring them to the relevant team before they ask.
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards: Design decision-oriented dashboards tuned for product, commercial, and executive audiences - including external-facing B2B analytics.
  • Collaborate on the data stack: Work closely with Data Engineers on Airflow pipelines, schema evolution, data quality and governance. You should be comfortable reading and contributing to pipeline code.
  • Partner with stakeholders: Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical frameworks. Run working sessions, present findings, and advocate for data-informed decisions at all levels.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation: Design test setups, validate statistical significance, and communicate results as clear product recommendations.
  • Champion data quality: Own data dictionaries, documentation, and DBT tests for your domains. Raise quality issues proactively.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 4+ years of experience as a Data or Analytics Engineer in a digital or tech product company
  • Expert-level SQL - you write complex, optimised queries without looking things up
  • Hands-on experience with BigQuery as a primary data warehouse
  • Practical experience with DBT - writing models, tests, documentation, and understanding lineage
  • Experience building and scheduling data pipelines with Apache Airflow
  • Strong Tableau skills - you build dashboards that drive decisions, not just display numbers
  • Strong communication: you can present analytical findings to a CFO and pair-program with an engineer on the same day
  • Familiarity with Mixpanel, mParticle, or similar product analytics tools
  • Comfort working in ambiguity - you can scope and prioritise your own analytical work

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ClickHouse
  • Python for data manipulation or automation (pandas, scripts, notebooks)
  • Background in OTT, media, or subscription businesses
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms (Optimizely, etc.)

AI & Emerging Tools — Openness to Learn

  • Hands-on exposure to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, etc.) — e.g. building classification, tagging, or summarisation pipelines on top of text data
  • Familiarity with agentic frameworks or workflow automation tools (LangChain, n8n, Airflow with LLM steps, or similar)
  • Regular use of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot in day-to-day coding
  • Curiosity about applying AI to BI workflows: auto-commentary on KPI movements, semantic search over data catalogs, or similar
