Premiere in Europe: Salt launches revolutionary IPTV solution with Apple TV using ZATTOO's technical platform

Zurich (22/03/2018) Salt introduces a disruptive TV solution in Switzerland with Apple and ZATTOO. The TV product’s central component is the Apple TV Box, which is being used with operator login for the first time outside the USA.

For Salt, this ground-breaking IPTV product is the perfect addition to its existing product portfolio. As the operator of a nationwide mobile network, Salt intends to position itself as a fixed-network provider in the Swiss market with its own TV service. ZATTOO operates the complete service as an end-to-end solution and also looks after the operation of the entire TV platform, the management of the TV application on the Apple TV Box as well as continuing to develop the platform and all front-end applications.

The Apple TV Box works like a set-top box with operator login. For the first time in Europe, operator login on an Apple TV box has been made possible, enabling automatic installation of the Salt TV and Salt Video applications. This also applies for iOS devices. Salt customers do not have to enter any login data and can easily switch between Salt TV and Salt Video. In addition to linear live TV and Video on Demand (VoD), the TV service includes modern interactive TV features such as Instant Restart, Time Shift, Catch-up TV and nPVR.

The TV product offers more than 300 TV channels, including 150 in HD quality. It includes a German-language package with 30 TV channels and a French-language package with 35 TV channels. Extensive pay-TV packages are also available thanks to the cooperation with Canal+ and SKY. New channels will be added each quarter.
