Medal chances

In the bobsleigh discipline, Michael Vogt and Melanie Hasler have secured star status. The women's single-seater is also going to be an Olympic event for the very first time. Both women and men have excellent prospects in curling. The Silvana Tirinzoni and Peter De Cruz teams are hoping for a medal. Jenny Perret and Martin Rios, who won silver in 2018, qualified in the mixed curling discipline. Alexia Paganini and Lukas Britschgi are representing Switzerland in ice skating. In freestyle skiing, Sarah Hoefflin, Andri Ragettli, Noé Roth, and Primin Werner, are hopefuls for podium placements. Things are looking particularly good for Switzerland in the alpine skiing events. In the women's competition, Michelle Gisin and Wendy Holdener are seen as the most likely to win, as they already won medals four years ago. Lara Gut-Behrami and Corinne Suter are also seen as top-class athletic performers. Four-time gold champion, Simon Ammann, will also be competing for gold once again, at the ski-jumping event in Beijing. The snowboard half-pipe riders, Pat Burgener, David Hablützel, and Jan Scherrer, also have a good chance at winning medals.
