The newly formed role of Director/General Manager - Direct to Consumer (DTC) will have the overall responsibility for the further development of Zattoo’s business with end-customers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). They will lead the DTC marketing, business development, customer service and product teams.
Together with their team the Director/General Manager DTC is accountable for overall development of the Zattoo DTC subscriber base. They do so in close collaboration with the Product Organization and Advertising Business Unit. The position focuses on the further development of the Zattoo DTC business in general and the growth of DTC subscriptions in particular. They will own and develop the P&L for Zattoo’s DTC business, be responsible for the profitable growth of the DTC business driving improvements across all levers. They will:
Develop a holistic understanding of the TV (distribution) industry, the users and the business models and create strategies that drive both short and long-term user and commercial impact.
Develop a clear strategic view on mid- to long-term positioning of Zattoo DTC and align the team behind it.
Be accountable for all activities of the DTC teams of FTE25+ including marketing, business development, customer service and product to continually grow the Zattoo DTC subscriber base
Balance all activities of the Zattoo DTC team in order to achieve continuous subscriber growth while also meeting the P&L financial goals
Lead, empower and further develop an experienced and collaborative team covering the business functions of marketing, business development, customer service and product.
Represent the Zattoo DTC business unit both internally and externally
Demonstrable success and experience in leadership roles, preferably as business unit lead or on general management level
Team-player and builder who can execute and thrive in a dynamic environment and agile culture
Is a responsible decision-maker with the ability to drive execution by empowering their team
Solid background of professional experience with digital business models
Track record in defining and growing subscription based business models
Strategic mind-set with strong operational capabilities
Ability to identify, assess and take advantage of strategic business opportunities
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including metrics-driven thinking
Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English
Comfortable speaking in front of diverse internal and external audiences
Willingness to acquire in-depth understanding of mid-term market trends in broader TV distribution industry in Switzerland, Germany and Austria
Professional experience in TV (distribution) industry in Switzerland, Germany or Austria
Experience as a business unit leader with P&L ownership
